Nothing says vacation (to me) more than lots of tiny bottles and jars of new products to test out. I brought so many on our trip to Cape Cod that I decided to break the review down into two parts. Here is part 1 of my review – the products I finished up in the first 10 days of our summer vacation.

Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel – I am very low maintenance with my brows in general (I’ve never had them plucked or shaped or threaded or anything – it’s au natural), so I appreciate a good lightly tinted brow gel that doesn’t make my already fullish brows look beastly. I was very impressed with this gel from a new botanical-based makeup and skincare line, Beautaniq Beauty. I tried the shade blonde (same color as my brows) and only needed one or two swipes to even out and enhance my brows without making me look like a clown.

BIOSSANCE Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer – So many buzz words in this product name. This was my first time trying the non-toxic Biossance brand, which I’ve been wanting to do for ages. In theory, this product should have been perfect for me – I struggle with redness year-round (which it aims to solve), and this product is not too heavy and perfect for summer. However, I didn’t really notice a difference in my skin tone after using for about a week. I ended up needing to use another moisturizer on top of it. That being said, if you’re skin isn’t QUITE as sensitive as mine, I think this moisturizer would work well for acne-prone, red skin in summer.

Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizing Cream – I love everything I try from Farmacy (yet another excellent non-toxic skincare brand) and the Honey Drop Moisturizer is no exception. I used it after my toner and serum at night, and it kept my skin feeling hydrated and replenished overnight. The weight is similar to the Biossance moisturizer (aka great for summer) but was more effective in hydrating my skin.

Klorane Shampoo with Peony – I really wanted to love this. Klorane is one of my favorite hair brands and I use many of their products. This one just didn’t do it for me. For some reason my hair felt greasy after every wash. Maybe I was too distracted in the outdoor shower to do a thorough cleansing? Maybe I shouldn’t be using a shampoo for sensitive scalps when mine isn’t particularly sensitive? Hard to say, but I won’t be buying this.

Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Conditioner – This is an excellent brand to check out if you’re dealing with postpartum hair loss. This conditioner specifically targets medium textured hair or chemically processed fine hair, which is exactly what I have. I use conditioner exclusively in the lengths and ends of my hair, and I did notice my hair felt stronger and shinier after using this. I continue to be a big fan of Philip Kingsley.
